“…Most people sees me as a coke addict, especially some of my friends who even believe that something is wrong inside my head. They think I’m crazy for always saying that all I want is to one day become a Coca-cola ambassador, and for believing such a dream will one day come to pass.’’ - Mojere Shinaayomi J.A
Apparently, coke has established itself as an integral part of the Nigerian culture and history. It is evident in our Birthday pictures where bottles of coke shares a stage with our cakes. If a poll is to be taken 80% of Nigerians from ages 0-15 (by my speculation) have bottles of coke on display on their birthday pictures.
Years
have gone by since the first sale of the drink in Nigeria, but we still
can't shake the drink away from us. For me, it'll continue to attach
itself to our country's culture DNA.
I am Mojere Shinnayomi J. A, the head and founder of Horn of Afroclassical Poets (HAP), an organization which is taking the fore in bringing about the cultural awareness to our people. I am a poet, a tourist and a lover of the awesome Coca-Cola drink. I believe in looking into our culture and what brought us to this point has what it takes to steer us in the right path.
My love for the Coca-Cola drink popularly called ‘’Coke’’ is totally out of this world. The passion and cravings I have for this great drink is beyond imagination, and it keeps increasing day after day. Trust me when I say this, no day passes by without me grabbing at least a bottle of coke. The kind of pleasure, satisfaction and energy I get after taking just a bottle of coke is just too amazing. I do this every day, and I enjoy it.
Most people sees me as a coke addict, especially some of my
friends who even believe that something is wrong inside my head. They think I’m
crazy for always saying that all I want is to one day become a Coca-cola ambassador,
and for believing such a dream will one day come to pass. They warn me about
the effect of addiction and tell me stuffs about diabetes. Just to clear things
out, I want everyone to know that I am hale and hearty, and I am not mad. For
those that believe I am insane, what I do tell them is that I believe that one
day, my insanity will become sanity.
All I have ever dreamed of is to one day get an endorsement
deal from the Coca-Cola company and become a Coca-Cola ambassador, and to have the
platform or opportunity to share my story and the passion of what I love doing
with the world.
I believe my dream can be realized with a coke endorsement deal.
I believe my dream can be realized with a coke endorsement deal.
I Hope to inspire the young folks out there, and to tell them
that, “No one can stop you when you taste that feeling, and nothing can ever
bring you down." Pursue your dreams! Thank you.
