My name is IYADUNNI OLUWASEYI AKINRINMADE, popularly known as DUNITE. I'm a business woman, and an entrepreneur.
I'm into Event Planning, Shopping and distribution of
Fashion and Cosmetics brands.
I have worked with various clients, and I've built a good,
strong and reliable relationship with various clients in and out of Nigeria.
This has increased my brands personality, reputation and integrity over the
years. I love to impact people's lives by creating value, and by empowering the
youths.
I'm from the Western part of Nigeria, Ondo State,
Okeigbo, Ileoluji. I'm the first daughter from a family of eight, having five
younger ones after me. I graduated from the faculty of Law, Adekunle Ajasin
University, Akungba Akoko, Ondo State.
Growing up for me has been a great challenge, and
having a lot of younger ones looking forward to learning what I do, and
whatever foot step I Lay down is what they tend to follow. I grew up from the
best company of siblings and love from my parents. My Dad is a man of policy
and principle, strict, and want all his children to be successful. All he wants
for me is to be a practicing Lawyer, but then, the Passion of been a business
woman right from my childhood days won't let me follow his dream, because I
have mine. I must say, as a female child and first daughter, it has been a
struggle over the hurdles of life. I have to make myself proud and as well make
my parents and younger ones feel blessed to have me.
My first time of trying out a business was during my
diploma days, I was in 100 level when I went to Cotonue for an extended family
trip. I had with me my pocket money that's about #55,000 (Naira), I thought of
buying Abayas to sell when I resume back to school, I did buy as many as I
could afford, and took them to school to sell to my friends and neighbours. I
remembered one of my Aunt told my dad and he became very angry at me, saying he
will stop paying my school fees. I had to stop selling, and then I decided to
give out the rest of the Abayas to my friends, because I never want my dad to
get angry at me, not even for a second.
However, when I was in my finals of been a LLB holder,
I said to myself, before my Bachelors in Law, I had to stay almost a year at
home, and in this process, this question keeps pumping in my head, when people
ask me, what do I do?, will I tell them I'm a graduate, I'm idle, I'm looking
for a job blah blah blah... This thought
keeps coming to me every morning I wake up, then one day I had to pray to God
to show me the way, it then came to my mind to start a clothing business. I
started going to Mandilas, Lagos, to
purchase and bring stocks to my room in the school hostel, displaying them on
my blackberry Display picture, call my friends and colleagues to come patronize
me in my hostel. And after few months, I had the opportunity of travelling to
China to get stocks to Nigeria to sell, four months later, I opened my first
Store in Ondo State Akure. Few years of following my career and becoming who I
wanted to be, I thought of a business name, and I came up with "DUNITE
COLLECTIONS".
In the process of getting a new Shop, I thought of registering my business name and I came by the Name "HOUSE OF FASHION". I believe that "House of Fashion" is not just for clothing but other fashionable stuffs Like accessories, Hair, cosmetics etc. This is why I have "DUNITE HOUSE OF FASHION" as my brand name. I had a Dream to impact lives through what I do, but at first, it seems like all hope had been lost, this is a story of a young lady who is not from an average home and not getting all the support I needed to start my business, and even though no one was coming to save me or pull me up from the "hole" I was in at the time, I continued to push and support myself.
After couple of years, I thought of registering my
company and adding one more business to it,
"Dunite Event Planning".
Oftentimes, I feel like giving up, but then I strive
hard and push harder because I believe that the sky is my starting point.
I'm open and available to work with any brand, company or client who would need my services as an event planner or any of my services from fashion, brand identity packaging to entertainment. I would also love to work with any young passionate entrepreneur who is ready to learn and grow.
