I had tons of time to think about the important days of
2017. Every year you have a birthday. Every year the holidays come and
go but not everyday is your life in limbo.
Jan 31, 2017 : rushed into emergency surgery due to intestinal scarring. 6 inches of the small intestine removed. -
Feb 14, 2017: woke up shaking uncontrollably with a fever quickly pushing into the 100s. Intestines split and contents spilling into my body, poisoning it. Rushed to surgery. -
Mar 24, 2017: post a third surgery and down to 95 lbs began bleeding internally for almost a week. E. coli infection. Uncontrollable shaking returns. -

2017, you could have been the last one but by the grace of God I’m still here and the healthiest I’ve been since i was 19. Thank you for everything you taught me. Everyone you placed around me. And by trying to kill me, showing me just how strong I actually am. To every doctor and nurse on both the east and west coast who’s care I was ever under, thank you. 2018, your move.
